Fee FAQ
Can I apply different fees to different cardholders?
Yes. While fees are configured at the programme (Behaviour) level, individual card-level overrides can be applied via the Vista card screen or through the API. Overrides are subject to the ceiling values set at the programme level.
What happens if a cardholder does not have enough balance to cover a fee?
For On Ledger programmes, if the available balance is insufficient to cover the fee, the fee is not applied. A notification is sent to you via webhook.
For Off Ledger programmes, Aurora communicates the fee event to you and your system determines how to handle it.
Will fees appear in real time?
Yes. At the authorisation stage, fees are calculated immediately and reflected in the revised cardholder billing amount. Webhook notifications are dispatched in real time so your systems are updated without delay.
Fees are recalculated at Clearing as some values may change between Authorisation and Clearing. For example if the cleared billing amount is different to the original authorised amount due to FX changes between the two events, then it would affect the percentage based amount of the Variable Fee calculated at auth vs clearing time.
Are fees included in limit calculations?
Limit values and counters are incremented at the authorisation stage, taking the fee into account.
At clearing, limit values may be adjusted but counts are not reduced.
